Puma Red Engine Bracket Rubbing on ECU Loom

This may have been covered before but I thought I should share what I found today, I was changing the heating valve today in my defender, while there I noticed the red engine bracket had completely worn through the plastic conduit the ECU wiring loom is in.

This is really bad, it has reached the wires but I think I caught it in time, there are a few that have lost sheathing that I willhave to look at. This could have caused a major issue and I am surprised it has not been a recall, its a shocking design flaw, it can't have just happened to my one. I will have to keep an eye on it now and if there are any issues I will check here first.

    2010 2.4 110
    I did remove the bracket.

    Cheers

I’ll have look at mine tonight and while it may be partly a design issue it’s also something that should be looked at when it’s serviced when looking at hoses, belts etc..
I’ve had to cable tie my ECU to the mounting bracket as it came loose, found while servicing.
    Cheers, Kyle

Remove the bracket and stow it, it's only use is for removing and installing the engine. I noticed mine rubbing when I first got the vehicle, it had rubbed through the conduit but not the wires. Another problem from using an engine intended for a different vehicle.
