    Puma pre-purchase inspection - Melbourne

    Hi everyone,

    Looks like I will likely buy my mates Puma defender. However, I did a search for Puma defender pre purchase inspections in Melbourne and the most recent was a little old. I'm hoping to get peoples fresh opinions.

    I'm thinking I can go to Ritters? Is this a quality, safe and cost effective shop to go to? Happy to listen to others thoughts.

    Yes Ritters would be a great idea.
    Let them know what you are planning to do with the vehicle and how many k's etc and they will be able to give you an estimate of what repairs may be needed to keep the Landie reliable.
    Ritters had a workshop day for LROCV and they are very knowledgeable about what problems are expected at which Km's and how to avoid problems.

    Look at if the output shaft was greased, if the gearshift rattles at idle because of loose clutch springs and if the gasket on the vacuum pump is leaking. Does the air-con get warm after 10-15 minutes of driving?
