    2nd fuel filter for a 300Tdi

I am about to purchase a second fuel filter for my 300TDI. I have chosen to buy the kit from Dieselcare. (DCS029). I have checked with them, they don’t have it listed for a 300TDI but they said it will work, but the bracket that comes in the kit won’t fit my vehicle so I will need to get a new one made up.
I have check on this site about second fuel filters but no threads suited my query. Has any one fitted one of these to there 300TDI? How has it performed? Any issues that you had?

not sure why you would fit a second filter, in stock trim you have a fuel water seperator down on the chassis near the tank and a filter that is more than adequate up in the engine bay.

but if you buy the right filter unit you can simply unbolt the fuel water seperator from its mount and fit up the filter in place of the seperator.

    Geez a common rail 300Tdi.
They run on used vege oil so a smidgeon of water would not hurt them.

I’m with Dave on this with the large water sep. plus factory filter there is little to be gained from installing anything extra

BUT if you want a changeable primary filter
The easiest is to remove the water seperator Bowl

    Buy this

Diesel Filter Assembly (14x1.5mm-Aluminium Bowl) 5836B900 | eBay

The filter element and aluminium bowl will bolt right up to your factory seperator Mount
No plumbing brackets or mounts needed

Please buy a model with aluminium bowl NOT a glass bowl

I’m with Dave, I don’t think it’s needed. The water separator does a good job of capturing larger particles like rust.
