    Hi Ken,

I think that it sounds absolutely awful - so much so (and because I feel sorry for you, being the nice guy that I am) - I will take the Defender off your hands, free of charge.

    Hi GG.
Wow, thanks for the offer of support mate, but I couldn’t do it to you.
The air freshener is almost due for changing and I’d hate you to be out of pocket on my account!😉

Great milestone, you mist be very happy.

so with all the awesome power you will now have did they give you an indication of expected economy you should receive once the novelty of the new motor wears off?.

I can’t find a ref to expected fuel usage apart from quotes saying it is economical.

My TD5 D2 with a lot of accessory weight, 265/75’s and aggressive tune is getting on average 13.4l/100km. Towing my camper in Jan through the extreme heat and 4 th gear I was averaging 19ish/100km

Are those figures in the ball park of what you should expect to receive?.

very jealous by the way. Congrats.

    cheers Chris

What does fuel economy matter if you have bought an expensive vehicle and then spent a small fortune on it?

it would be nice to know as I can’t find a ref online of expected average fuel usage.

I think it is a reasonable request.

    Fuel economy LS3

    G’Day fellas.
Re fuel economy for the LS3, it’s currently hard to tell, as my Defender is heavy (and having a GVM upgrade.)
I have a 128 litre rear tank, so as soon as I get the vehicle back from its rebirth, I’ll fill it to the brim, do some driving and get back to this thread re fuel usage and my honest impressions.

If you compare to the patrol boys. ignoring the outliers that say its either as economical as a 4cyl or as thirsty as a Marlin 12 cyl engine, expect city driving +/- 18 L/100, hwy +/- 16 L/100 and low range 20-25 L/100. You don't buy an LS3 to be a fuel miser.
