They are splined on on end.
Drive them out with a long nose punch.
I would have done this except there's some speculation that everything could shut down in Vic around Easter so I needed to get them in the shop quicksmart.

I probably would have scratched the bejesus out of them putting them back together again too..

Thanks TOR, nice idea. The hinges are over 20 years old and still have very little play in them so I'll probably avoid any further dismantling at this stage.

Maybe when they're 40 years old!

Use a kero Gun at 100 psi.
It will mist clear out the other side and every hole👍👍
Thanks modman this is a great idea.

Do you thin the fish oil with something or just warm it to thin it?

Do you reckon 150 psi would be too much? I've got a 12v compressor for my tyres and it's rated at 150psi.

A 12V compressor won't have enough flow for a spray gun.

I thought as much but thought I’d check.

I have not done Defender hinges but have done RRC 2 door hinges.
You should be careful to check the play with the door almost closed as the wear comes from the door weight and is asymmetric.

My hinges were worn and luckily I have a mate who ran the Cockatoo Island dockyard back then. He drilled out the hinges and made new pins from Monel and then splined them.
The problem is in doing this that the Pins are AFAIR 8 MM and 10 MM leaves too little meat on the hinges. So he machined the pins down to 9MM. There is no such thing as 9MM anything with a shaft like say a bolt.
This could be one size smaller like 7 Mm but I cannot exactly remember.
Doors were nice from then on.
    Regards PhilipA
