2.4 Puma spin on oil filter

    Hello all

Had a gut full of black oil dumping everywhere when I release the 2.4 oil filter bowl. No matter how I drop it still a mess! Oh!...... and never mind the cost of the cartridge

So being 2020 and 2.4s went away around 2011 there must be a spin on filter conversion, mustn't there? (or for Transits).

Did a Search here but only came up with a bigger better cooler which included spin on kit.

    Anyone?

    Cheers

    RF

Maybe have a look at the Ford Transit forums also?

Id like to do the same. I'm going to struggle to get mine off on my next service.

i have seen a filter conversion somewhere but oi cant recall.
The filters are much cheaper from England and even a genuine filter is only around $15.
I will order some with my next order when i need something else.

I sse the price of the adapter is a little bit higher than I thought it would be. Now I remember why i still use a cartridge filter and get my hands dirty.

When I change the spin on oil filter on the 200 tdi, oil still runs down onto my hand. As the oil filter position on the Puma is not at an angle I do not see how fitted the adaptor will stop oil getting on to your hands as you remove the filter.
A mechanic I know puts a plastic bag over the spin on filter as he removes it and traps oil coming out. I must try it next time I do an oil change on the Puma. Things are never as straight forward when you are lying on the ground under the vehicle as they are when it is up on a ramp!
