How many breather lines on a TD5?

    This shows my ignorance.

I was looking where near the rear of my cylinder head there was a small oil leak. And found 3 breather lines and at least one looked a bit oily. I assume they are front/rear diff and the gearbox. Maybe not. And, how many breathers are there? Surely there must be a tank breather at least.

Also, how to check that they are clear and not clogged?

    Thanks!

You'll have a total four, 2 x axles, gearbox and transfer case.

I've used compressed air to check they are clear, unbolt from top of gearbox/t case blow the air through, the banjo fittings use the same compressable washer as the turbo. You should replace them each time. Note much easier with the floor off.

Axles are push fit into a brass fitting also press fitted into the axle casing so kinda impossible to take off and blow through easily. I change these out for 90 degree screwed in fittings.
