    Unhappy Electrical nightmares

Hi, this is my first post. I own a 2005 Defender td5. It has been an electronic nighmare - sudden cutouts. Had the ECU sent to UK for rebuild, checked and tested all the relays, put in a directs earth from box under seat to battery, cleaned and checked the earth connection at the transfer box. It went well for about 12 months and now the nighmare has returned - it just cuts out. No faults recorded on the nanocom. It seems there is an earthing fault but I can't reproduce it. If it stops, I can get it going again by wriggling the two relays, the main and the fuel pump, but that is only a temporary solution. It's wierd! Perhaps there is a break in a loom but moving them around does nothing. I'd very much welcome some suggestions. It's so simple!!! And I replaced the inertia switch just in case.

When it cuts out and you attempt to restart, what happens?

    Does the taco needle move?
    Cheers

    thanks re suggestion

I haven't noticed but the issue is no fuel pump action. Everything else works.

Have you checked if the connections to the fuel pump need replacing?

By wriggling relays you are disturbing the problem .now you have to find it .plug in relays pins will push back etc

Sounds like a hot joint between pump and front of vehicle.

Check the loom , they have been known to rub inside the chassis too..
