Keep us in the loop though / make a thread on it if you get one as its really interesting !
If you already have A/C fitted than you don’t need the full kit…..UK car generally need the full kit.

    Ministry of Defender Air Con

I have to come clean and admit that I recently installed the MOD aircon unit.

The performance of the unit is great.......my personal experience in dealing with MOD was not so great. Their communication was lacking - manufacture time was blown out and they did not reach out to let me know and the spec of their unit changed during the course of manufacture which would have been nice to know prior to delivery There were also challenges and extra costs for the unit to clear our shore. They were going to look into this and see if they could recoup some dollars but went silent in the end.

On a positive side, the local guy who gassed up the unit was very impressed...he said it was the best unit he had seen in a Defender and it pulls down to 4deg C. I am loving the performance of the unit and the amount of space that I now have in my single cab 130.

Wife rates it so thats a win.

Well, finally Have it up and running. All i can say is chalk and cheese in regard's to under dash unit. Im more then happy with the result money well spent . Total Cost Around
$ 2400. unit and fitting. Since I'm running a 4bd1/t the only thing i did motor wise was raise the idle slightly. I probably could have got out of it cheaper by wiring it up myself but decided to get shop running pipes to do it to save any possible warranty issues. Baz

Old post , reviving. So hows this working out long term? Thinking about doing the same. Did you already have AC and just fitted the box? cheers, Brian.

I had the old under dash unit, it worked but was not up to the task for North Qld. The red dot is working well and even though its in the back seat it blows heaps of air . To help circulation i have a single fan on the dash. No complaints from the grans kids when they ride in the back seat. Thinking of fitting a 12v oscillating in the back for the kids and circulation. Probably don't need it. Baz
