I was thinking about 265/75 for my trip…..
From memory they have a slightly smaller rolling diameter than 235/85…I’d have to double check that.
I figured I stick with 235/85 …..
I’d go 255/85 if they come in an AT and we’re readily available.
Got a question, I am tossing up weather i should go from the 265/75 tyres down to the standard 235/85. There are for and against on both sides, but i would like some feedback from other members what their opinions are.
I have noticed increased in fuel consumption, slightly more wear in the suspension/steering, and also some internal rubbing when flexing although i am using offset rims.
Please tell me what your thought as are. Thanks

I had 265/75s on steelies and went back to standard size on boosts.
A steelie with tyre was 14kg more per corner than the boost. Tyre by itself was 6-8kg difference per corner.
It went faster, easier on the clutch, better fuel economy, better turn radius as they don't rub on the chassis.
I wouldn't go back unless I was doing hard offroad work and really needed it
I recently re-shod. I read articles such as

...and thought about how I use the car, kept in mind that I had F/R ATBs (plus the centre diff lock), and elected to stay on Conti 235/85R16s.

SupporterI ran 31 x 10.5 R15's with Maxxis Bravo tyres for many years (smaller diameter than the 265/75 R16's but same width). I wanted to go to a 32" tyre but they are not available for a 15" rim (unless you go to a 11.5" inch wide tyre) so I bought some cheap D1 steelies and the same Maxxis Bravo tyres but in 235/85 R16's. The decrease in roll resistance was very noticeable! The 110 also handles soooooo much better when going through puddles where they 'cut' through the puddle and don't pull the vehicle around like the wider tyres did. This built my confidence in the vehicle on wet roads.
235/85 R16's definitely get my vote - I certainly won't be changing to anything else. I am currently running Falken Wildpeak AT3W's and I am very happy with them too.
Note: My 110 is built mainly for touring and moderate 4x4ing.

I’ve been through 205 r16 duellers, 31 x10.5 15 perelli scorpions, 235/85 16 continental cross tracs, 255/85 16 maxxis bighorn and 225/95 16 Bridgestone duellers and Dunlop grand treks
My vote goes on the latter 3 sizes, the taller the smoother the ride, the thinner the more nimbler on road and feels sure footed on the loose gravel
The 225s are actually good in the soft sand, let them down to about 20psi and it floats nicely over the top
There are plenty of 225s straight off the land cruiser 79s going at cheap prices
My nephew got some for his 76 work ute and says the same thing
He’s looking for a set for his 76 play ute now
I’ve done about 10000kms and wear is good
I’ve have three of each tyre so run same tyres on same axle and no real noticeable difference between duellers and grand treks
(That reminds me to rotate the wheels again)
His duellers have started to split between the treads and doesn’t know why, I suspect bad batch
I’ll try and catch up with him tomorrow and get some photos

*What I like about either 235/85R16 and 265/75R16 is they are pretty well the same size as a 7.50x16.
*That in my mind gives you 3 different tyres sizes you could fit if you got stuck somewhere and needed a tyre.
*That being said, can most of us even remember the last time you got a flat, modern tyres are exceptional.
I'm running...
265/75R16 Yokohama GEO15 on my dad's Defender 130 (I cant even remember how many km's or years they are, they simply dont wear out).
235/85R16 BF Goodrich KM3 on my Perentie. (typical muddies, starting to wear uneven now and don't last all that long).
235/85R16 Bridgestone 697 on our Defender 200tdi (not very old, will likely last many many years).
I think there is more in the way someone drives their Defender rather than the tyre size.
The last set of 265/75R16 (Bridgestone 697) lasted my dad 9 years, tread was still very good but they were going out of balance.
