Hey Bazzle, I think you're thinking of the HVAC fan going by your description.
The OP's problem is the condenser fan is now confirmed not working.

It's a Landrover .. some fasteners require the complete dismantling of the entire car, and maybe your neighbours car, to get to the nut or bolt that turns whilst you try to undo the other end!
