						SupporterHi All
Seems that Andrew from Shingleback will not be running another batch of long range tanks this year. From what I have read here and elsewhere these are very good products. I am looking for auxiliary tanks for both fuel and water and my preference is sill mounted.
So my questions;
- Anyone have a Shingleback for sale? Fuel and water?
- what is a good alternative, there are a few out there!
- what brands to avoid and why
- common problems - fill points, breathers, pumping from them, measuring fuel levels etc
I would be grateful of any guidance!
Cheers - Simon

Hey Robmacca
I think you may be waiting a while. I wrote to them yesterday and this is their reply;
Thanks for getting in touch. I am sorry to say that we don't have a date as yet for the next lot of fuel tanks. I am doubtful it will be this year as all focus at the moment is on getting the new racks & accessories out into the market.
I know Andrew is keen, we just need to free him up a little!
Regards, Kimberley
Maybe if more of us are making enquiries it might change the focus long enough for a batch or two of tanks??

Have just started using my Shingleback Sill tank on our Lap around AUS Trip….so far so good, although I do need to pull over to transfer, we’ll choose to, might have to work out a better breather system.
From memory either The Long Range or Longranger have a option for sill tanks. Maybe both do.
Expedition centre, Mulgo Poptop used to have sill tanks for both sides manufactured, be worth a call.
Doubt you’ll find a secondhand shingleback tank, you have asked so ya never know.

						SupporterMine had LRA (Long Range Automotive) sill tanks fitted when I purchased it many years ago. They would have been fitted in the 90's.
Diesel tank has to be filled slowly, I did get a new filler neck from them to improve things but never got round to fitting it.
Long Range Automotive - LRA - Long Range Fuel Tanks
Diesel tank has a LR sender. 3-position switch in the dash. Select main tank, sill tank or transfer. Gauge displays whichever tank selected.
There is also a low level sensor which I think switches off the transfer if the sill tank gets too low.
