Bonnet lift strut kit for post 2007 steel bonnet

    Hiyas all

Been off the air for best part of a while. Two wrist ops. One then the other 2 over last 9 months. Arfer Rightist! LH one still in thermo plastic cast.

Anyway, "himself" was at auto leccy to get starter switch replaced. That all worked, but when he came home bonnet was on safety latch..............and ......and I couldn't lift it. Needed jiggery pokery.

Question: Does anyone know of bonnet lift strut kit for post 2007 deffie steel bonnet.

Have had look on line to no effect. Seems there are plenty around for earlier models with alloy bonnets but not post 2007????

What about any deffie with full wheel on bonnet????

    Cheers Rick F

They are out there, in the uk. I saw a couple advertised earlier in the year as I’m keen to fit something to my wife’s Puma.

Only last week I saw a video on a home made set up for a spare on the bonnet by some engineer chap again the uk. Link here https://youtu.be/7SMZkX0I1HM?si=rvXGdkcM--F61kW8

This may or may not help you; I've been putting a rope from my bonnet up to the roof rack, not so much to help lift the weight (as I am a vigorous male in the prime of life) but to stand it up vertically for better access. I tie the rope off at the side of the roof bar; the wide-open bonnet makes a big difference for access and light. Assuming you have a roof rack or bar, it might be worth experimenting and seeing if pulling on a rope and pushing up at the same time will make it any easier. A little loop of rope sticking out the front to tie onto might then be all you need.
