this has been my daily driver the last few days... It goes like a rocket, auto box and so much power down load but runs out of legs pretty quick over 100kph, massive turbo etc but im not keen on how it handles the rougher roads and bumps.

What makes you say that? im not that familiar with the TD5, but it looks well made, i think the flanges are either 8 or 10mm plate and very nice welds.

Tube manifolds have never lasted behind the Td5. Not sure why, perhaps Tombie can explain. However I have seen a very well made bespoke one fail in a fairly catastrophic manner!

because its tube, distance from the head or centre of the rocking weight of the turbo lineal expansion, etc. better to use pipe, nonmaligable ( spelling)

So is there no way of making it work reliably? Thicker tubing or piping like you say but would it be possible to also brace the manifold to the block or something to take the weight of the welds etc? Or would other issues arise from doing that?

lots of other issues, that's why a manifold is usually made out of stuff like steam pipe.

run with it until it cracks, the whip it off and get a real one made up
