What if I said I was thinking of going to MTs and just 5mm wider? I only do sand once a year.

I'd say... How many times a year do you 'do mud'? Or is it just for phat looks? MT's are atrocious on anything except serious mud. AT's 235/85R16 or 7.50R16 is all I've ever needed to pull many a Tojo out of a bog.

Good point and I've had to pull the odd one or two out of sand.

Mine Conti ATs. Theirs Puffy MTs. But. I think their short comings were as much to do with the vehicles as the tires.

You answered your question I reckon. Wide tyres = bulldozer. Skinny tyres = caterpillar tracks.

...unless of course you want me to tow you out next time? Don't worry you'll look phat. There will be more dirt sprayed up the side of your Landy too and those baggy sidewalls will see you shelling out for more new tyres more often too. ...I'll still grab a beer with you afterwards though 😊
