They even sold me the rated shackles to fit.

I have had a close look at the size of the steel around where the shackles fit and the bar is certainly strengthened there.

Also, I was impressed at the way the bar is fitted to the chassis.
I have no qualms about recovering from those points using a bridle.

That said... I am of course VERY interested in what others who have this new bar think.

    .
I love the new bar, glad I waited to get one......what do the shackles need to be rated too for safe recovery ? I will buy some for my Puma 130.

Just going back and looked the the first post in this thread and thinking how I wish I still had my ute, and my Rangie and still keep the 130..

Nothing worse than selling a Landie ! I'm only grateful that every time I have done so, it was to buy another one !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Go for the 4.7 or 4.75 tonne shackles cos they cost bugger all more than the 3.2tonne ones. I got 2 for $20 from BCF but that was on special. Cheap as chips; should've got 4 of them.

well its a 110 td5, start off its got some MTRs 265/75 on the aloys with 3" of flexy holding up the body off the ground, running extended shocks for the nice flex, got a LR front bar with a set of narvas, around the side its got some custom 4mm sliders with extended tree protectors and a snorkel, at the back its got work and reverse lights up on the roof, with recovery points at both ends for getting them nissans out

inside its got upgraded sound sys allround with built in sub box mounted to the cage at the back, and the amp mounted to the rear draw sys in the boot, allso the mount for the freage an more power outlets direct to the battery, on the cage inside iv mounted head rests for the rear pass and to try and keep that aircon working nice,

under the pass seat is a 1500cca battery and next to it is my ARB air comp for my flicky flicky switches, inset to the dash is a icom pro uhf with external speekers mounted to the roof, allso i have wired in a junction box so i can swap from the mid roof mounted airal to the one on the bullbar,, all inside its been carpeted/sound proofed and with heat reflector stuff to try and keep some heat and sound out the cab,

engine wise its prity stock as the td5 is one strong motor, iv uped the boost to about 20psi and played with the engine ecu to make it go a lil better, soon to get a nice 200kw 500nm chip( hurry up tax time), allso with the bigger intercooler, exhurst is most time dumped at the rear diff and makes one hell of a wissle and sound, ud be surprised how meny gu people comment about it,, they love it,

so yer,, your every day fender
