There are some nice extras on the SVX (seats, iPod, satnav) and with the black paint it they look tasty as all get out but don't discount the advantages of getting a "plain" standard Defender in white, cheaper and you can spend the $ towards some more useful (IMHO) things like dual battery, aux fuel tank, UHF.

That way you don't have to spend good $ on the 3rd row of seats, the exxy leather seats (sure we Defender owners love the idea of leather recaro but we are telling you too we are happy with the existing seats).

I think you know if you are a Defender driver, It's such a spiritual thing. You've taken the time to look into it, 95% of people in your position would just look at the Nissota Pradjero and not even be aware a Defender exists.

Just buy one, you know you want to.

That extra $10,000 buys for my white Defender a whole lot of accessory stuff that suits what I want from the vehicle.

The SVX will suit others and may represent good value in those cases.

....that is the beauty of the beast.

i threw up when i saw that front end. They could have done sooooo much better with that grill/headlight surrounds.

Everything else is cool. It could do with lockers and bigger tyres, but thats just me.

Dealers are still not committing to a price although it states 63K on the website. They might jack up the price if there is a high demand for them. Luxury tax also comes into play at that price and with onroads you are looking at late sixties. Love the look of them but hard to justify over the standard model. Although the spec sheet indicates 16" wheels .. the dealer I spoke to reckons they will be released with 17" wheels. He might be smoking cheese going by the photos!
