Hi all,
First post here, so hoping for some advice.
I'm thinking of getting one of the Defender SVX'S ( Depending on final specs and price which is yet to be announced)
The question I have is they will only be available in Black.
I've only ever had a light colored vehicle.
Any of you had a black Defender, and if so how do you find the added heat from it, or is it not an issue?
Thanks!
BD
Neither do some Australians - look at the prevalence of black or dark coloured vehicles!
One of the long term problems with vehicles in Australia (or most of the rest of the world for that matter) is that almost all car designers live in cold climates - and the few who don't, slavishly copy the styling of the majority.

i have a black one, its hot it gets dirty but it looks so cool
Thanks P.A. I love the look of fenders too, but I don't want to cook in one.
I'm getting the idea that the SVX is probably not a good idea.....
Do you have an 07?
I think the huge window areas on newer vehicles make it worse than on a well designed Defender with less glass area and upright windows. Dark paint fades and shows age more.

If you get one you'll need to glue some of the old air vent doors to where they were removed on the outside as the black really shows that silly gap up.

I'll had my 2007 black defender since 30 october, for the first 2 weeks jumping in the vehicle was a killer, but since after having the windows tinted by solace (formula 1 tint), the cab is alway cool. Which cost around $500.
Even last december when I was up in townville and temp over 40, the vehicle was cool after run the a/c for 2-3mins.
The new a/c is the best thing going for the new model after the new engine & gearbox (power & sound - quiet)
My only problem, which really ****ing me off is, that I'll had several people approach me asking is that a hummer.
