Just got home from play time, and my guard resembles a flat, though curde bar, rather than a tube. Its done its job, now its time to move on to a heavier duty job.
Whats everyone elese using?

That would have worked in this case! Track Ive done a lot before (3 days ago also) and its a sort of "Pick Your Rut!" track, where there are 3 different rutts to pick and thats it your are commited. I didnt bother to check further down because if done it a few days ago. By the looks of it someone with much bigger wheels than myself had been bogged at the exit/climb out and I just dropped and hit solid ground head on top speed 2nd low. Oh well... live and learn.
Don't get too carried away..
First, there will be times when articulation will expose steering gear anyway
2nd, some styles reduce your approach angle.
3rd, They reduce airflow under the car. Gearboxes do rely on this cooling effect.
4th, Mud can be a problem to clean out depending on design.
Me, I've just opted for a beefier tube bar setup similar to original.

Graeme Cooper does one with a thicker wall for the pipe and a bolt on/off chequer plate guard. I have one on the Disco and will be doing the same for the Fender.
