    Cost of a 2004 90?

Wondering what people's guess might be on the price of a completely stock 2004 MY03 90 Extreme with 90,000ks on the clock? My brother in law has one he uses on his farm and is thinking of seling it as he is selling the farm.

Red book says it worth between $23,400 - $26K privately and says the RRP was $39,950 new. He paid $50k on road for it though

Just after a ball park if anyone can help.

I would hope to get a little more for mine. I have kept an eye on Carpoint over the last year and have seen them for sale for $33 to $50K depending on K's and other bits. At the moment there are 5 on Carpoint.com from mid 30K's. They seem to take a while to sell privately as there isn't that many buyers interested in 90s. I'll be interested in what others have to say also.

(P.S. Without trying to hijack the thread, does anyone know how many td5 90's are in Aus - I've heard 42 but I thin that's a bit low!)

I just missed out on a 2003 90 in untouched condition with 20,000Km on it. City use only. Not a scratch on it (Nice grey too). It had back seats in it too, with engineers certificate.

It started out at $38,000 6 weeks ago. Dropped to $36,000 last week.

I offered $32,000, but as it was almost within my grasp some richer bugger trumped me with $34,000!

So why is Red Book showing RRP of $39,950 when he paid $50k for it? He had the back seat put in as well mind you but they weren;t a $10k option

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Sort of torn, as my brother in law has no interest in Land rovers as such, simply bought it as a farm car as he has always had 90's and likes them. With him considering selling, I am thinking of buying it from him but want to make sure he gets what its worth but also make sure I pay an appropriate amount

    Thanks again, Mick

take red book with a large pinch of salt! example. we had a 1999 3dr excel bought new only had 60 000k on it. red book said it was worth 3-5grand (average price for average excel of that age) but ours was above average, we got 7grand for it, it took 12mths on carpoint but it was better than giving it away.

    cheers phil

That's the one. Looked like a mint version, so someone's got an excellent buy, even at $34K.

The problem with the 90 is that there have been very few sold in Australia, so that the market is very thin, and very unpredictable. I don't know where Red Book gets their prices from, but for relatively rare Landrovers of any kind they seem to bear little relevance to the prices they sell at.

But any rare vehicle is going to sell at prices that jump about.

You guys are making me happy. I probably will sell my 90 in the next 12 months or so. I had thought that it may take a little while to move after watching the classifieds but discowhite has swayed me somewhat.

For info I had a rear seat put in mine (Now registered as a four seater)and this cost me 2 grand - but the seats really only good for kids. (Not teenagers!) and doesn't really leave much room for gear. (I hate putting stuff on the roof!)the taxes, tow bar, snorkle, bullbar winch combo pushed it up to nearly $50k

It's a great vehicle but just a bit too small for my ever growing family.
