 Defender 110 Floor Mat Piece
 Defender 110 Floor Mat Piece
One thing that is bugging me about the new Defender is Land Rover's efforts to cut costs in certain areas by removing various bits of trim. One such piece is the foam-backed matting on the floor panel behind the front seats. This is now just bare metal and is prone to scuffing from passengers in the rear seats.
I can't see any difference between the new Defender and my previous one so I assume that the older matting and cover stips will fit. I have asked the dealer to give me a price for this part but I expect it will be MEGA$ - certainly more than I would deem realistic for such a minor bit of trim.
So is there anyone out there who might have such a thing spare for sale?
Anyone?

Dont want to go down the road of a Clarke Rubber product of some sort of description ?
Not interested in a DIY since I know that the genuine article exists.
The dealer has confirmed that you can get it for $66.50 ex UK, but cannot confirm whether or not it will still fit, nor can they confirm that the price includes the matting and the three metal clamping strips. I guess I will have to talk to parts directly because in some regards the dealer is just USELESS when it comes to detailed information.

When you find out the part number remember to tell us, so we can all order one.
Out of interest does every one else's 2008 defender get really hot around the floor after a good few hours of highway driving?
Cheers
Craig
Rang Austral parts directly last week and emailed the details of what I'm chasing - no reply yet. I'll keep everyone posted.
Haven't noticed any "hot floor" issues, but then I'm not driving much these days. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm EVER going to reach the first service mileage.
I find I get hot air coming from the hand brake itself. It is an inverted U shape and creates an opening to the area under the seat box and acts as a duct channeling the hot air from around the gear box into the cab. I have thought about stuffing a piece of foam in side it but as it is winter at the moment I don't mind.

Did a bit of searching and came up with this
Defender 90 110 130 front seat box cover retainer set on eBay, also, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 07-Jul-08 21:07:48 BST)
Close but not quite the parts I'm after. These are for Defenders with three seat box lids (ours only have two under the driver's & passenger's seats) and are the bits that hold the rear edge of the lids in place.
