ok maybe we are getting are wires crossed then

as i thought when you ment slope you were talking about the step down within the battery box.

as both ours have a step down!!!

i cant really tell what your talking about by looking at your pic in the way you have explained it i wrongly assumed you were talking about the step in regards to the slope as that is what i thought i was looking at at the left hand side of the picture.....

    sorry for the missunderstanding

my 88 110 csw has the battery holding recess down the centre of the battery box - it runs from the front to the rear of the box just like IsuzuRover's talking about. In the photo you can make out the profile of what used to be the recess in the top third of the photo where it has been cut out but not ground back to smooth and then a new, flat and lower floor has been added. The photo looks like it is taken from inside the box looking towards the front of the vehicle.

A PO of my vehicle glued a piece of 1x4 wood in the recess and this has made it level enough to re-orientate the battery east-west, and add a second N70 sized battery to the box.

What Rangieman describes is exactly what I have in my county, however I cannot fit 2x N70s turned 90 degrees, as they would foul the top of the seat box (can anyone say short circuit ).

WRT the picture, I may be wrong, but it looks like this is the original profile of the bottom of the battery box, which has been cut out:

agreed isuzurover... however you can fit N70 batteries in there sideways, you just need to be a bit choosey in your models as some are slightly shorter than others. Mine also has a piece of conveyor belt rubber on top to prevent a dislodged battery from touching the box lid and causing a short... about a 10mm gap there

Ahh - OK. My battery can just fit sideways up the very front of the battery box, but no chance of two. Mine is a Supercharge Gold sealed N70 - 860 CCA or something. Maybe it is taller than most.
