Fitted my new front springs today

Well yesterday I was meant to go car selling. Down the highway and as if by magnetic attraction my car was yanked off the highway and ended up at MR Automotive.

I got LR 130 front springs, to fix my front end sag. Its tightened up the body roll etc.

 old and new spring

 almost level now.

The first side took... an hour or two:P the second side I had a eureka moment and did it in about 20. (maybe one day I will admit how I handled the first side:P)

 140 dollars well spent IMO.

					1 hour

So at least you worked it out for the other side...

Assuming you have no trouble with siezed bolts / shock nuts... Its easy to change all 4 springs in under 1 hour.

 Looks great.

First side I couldn't get the lower shock nut undone because the body of the shock was rotating, which I tried to modify an oil filter rench to stop it. Ended up using a stilson, which worked a treat and it didnt even scratch the paint.

I ended up moving the whole shock/tower because I didn't relies you could move the shock to the top of its travel easily by hand :P then I compressed the spring because I didn't relies you could push down on the axle by hand to make that extra few cm of room need to yank the old spring out.

The only reason I worked out how to do it properly was because on the passenger side, I was about to do the same, but noticed some air con pipes traveling over the shock tower. So I sat and drank my cup of tea and worked it out.

Atleast I know now for when I put my D2 rubber retainers in.

So there it is. Another day in the life of my bad mechanics :P
