Surely that should be reason for a recall.
I've seen recalls by Holden and Toyota for far more trivial things than that.
For those of you with the new 07 MY defenders I think you should check this out.

Not quite as bad as it could be - isn't that the vacuum line? Should give poor brakes not no brakes.

If the Defender brakes are anything like the D2 brakes, then no vacuum is as good as no brakes - and I dont mean there is some braking... its just about no brakes at all.

I saw this and had a gander at mine.
All is attached and lots of room between the shield and the pipes.
I'll be keeping an eye on it though.

Ex 300Tdi Disco:
Not exactly,Toyota had to recall Prado's because the flange on the diff's weren't welded on causing the rear hub assembly to come off, then they recalled them a second time because the front lower control arm balljoint that holds the front wheels on failed and the cruisers were because the bolts that hold the brake rotors on weren't torqued up,just loose and the Prius catch on fire and the steering columns were ''burnt'' during heat treatment so they snapped so having a vacuum pipe on the defender fail causing a stiff pedal is not quite in the same league. Pat
I dont quite follow your logic.
