    Locking a Defender

Hello Folks - got my truck in at OL today - they have been really helpful in regard to repairing my buggered wheel carrier and are totally rejigging it with much thicker steel plate - so now it will outlast the cockroach!

But the point of my post... I asked them to lock the keys in it so I can come along later tonight with the 2nd set and pick it up. But now I'm wondering if this is actually possible!

I've always just used the fob to lock the truck. Can it also be locked by pushing down the driver's side door lock and slamming the driver's door?

If so - would I then need to unlock it with the key rather than the 2nd fob?

Yes, but hopefully from someone here with the answer in this thread. Otherwise I'm going to have to leave work early to get to the store before they close.

Yeah - I've been careful to not let anyone know it's at the OL at Toowoomba!

Just get them to lock it from the outside then push the keys in through the bottom of either front doors. There's normally plenty of space there .

It will lock with the button pushed on the door. But it is easier to do one of the rear doors then the front door. I can't recall why it's just it was a pain to do with the front and easier to do with the middle doors.
