My LR County is a bucket of @#$%

Well kinda. Mabe im not man enough to enjoy contstantly wrestling the truck box and heavy **** clutch all day through the city. It's just realy hard and tiring to drive through the city. Its loud. The floor heats up so much it burns my feet. Its handles crap cause its got a 2 inch lift and skinny tires. The steerings heavy.
I hate it. The v8 is thirsty and underpowered. 100k's is 3400 revs. I cant be arsed spending money on mags, a decent motor, steering box, aircon, floor insulators and the like because its money down the drain. For those who enjoy your countys I commend you on your resilience and physical and mental strength.

But my opinion is **** box I may still keep it as purely a bush basher though.

So its got me thinking about mabe buying an auto Discovery for a little more comfort. I love the new ones but cant afford one for a year or so i guess I'll do some reading.

Interesting. My V8 County with standard 7.50R16 tyres, 4-speed box, and 3.5 V8 was easy to drive everywhere. Admittedly, it didn't have a lift. Becasue a County is under 2 tonnes, it goes quite well with a 3.5 V8.

I was reluctant to sell it and sometimes rue selling it. An ex-colleague owned it for 18 years before me, driving it every day, and he lived in Ryde, often driving it to work at Paddington.

Does yours have working power steering?

You bought a truck! Guess what? Welcome to truck ownership!

    /end flaming...

In all seriousness, I guess like Series Landies they aren't for everyone. A Disco or Rangie would do you well, and you should be able to pick one up for the same as you could sell your County for so no loss.

If it isn't your thing, just get something that is.
