I've run both my LR's with nulon green with distilled water.Don't mix coolant ever,if you need a top up or blow a hose and need a fill just fill/add water until you can properly sort it.This summer I'm also going to run water wetter. Pat
Hi All,
Once again just going thru the 130 and spotted that the bottom radiator hose, that also heads to or from the heater unit passes over a metal bracket that rubs a hole in the hose. OK so I bought the new hose and will install it tomorrow, but I hear that one has to be very careful with the type of coolant used- Please advise. Also has any one come up with a remedy to stop this from happening in the future.
Thanks
Malcolm

I wish I read that before last July. I put a water alarm in and a faulty clamp was used so a weep set alarm off and I topped it up with about 1500mls of coolant. It was the same colour (green) and I checked the new stuff was suitable for diesels. I've no idea what coolant is there normally.
Just how never is "never"?
Ive done the same thing on more than 1 occasion, what damage can be done?
Malcolm
I believe mixing coolants can cause them to 'gel', but I have to admit to mixing green coolants for the last 20 or so years without a problem.
