    I'm not so sure about that. The one I just replaced was a white one. But at least it did give me warning. I'm not sure whether the cap was working properly. I replaced it anyway. Cheap enough to do so (from the unnamed place in Sydney - why can't we mention its name?)

    more they don't like their prices bandied around as they are primarily a wholesaler.

    A head gasket is not preventive maintence in my opinion ever is a clutch a head and so and so
    Maybe if your doing a extended outback trip

    310,000 on the original black one, Ive never replaced it and Ive had the car since 180,000 and when I bought it I got a pile of invoices and I cant remember seeing one for an expansion tank so Im thinking it may have been a bad batch or something which let go early.

    Im with Chris, do normal preventative maintenance E.g. belts hoses etc but that sort of thing is best done if it breaks.

    Ive had mine pumped up to 50Psi looking for a coolant leak and it didnt split the tank......I was partly stressing about it as well but so far touch wood it is fine.
