I'm with JC that auto is sweet,I have one on the back of a 24valve cummins in my acco,that would turn a defender into an interceptor.Another good choice would be the Hino TD4 in thier light truck range,I don't know the engine name but I measured it up and it is the same size as the Isuzu 3.9. Pat

My tdi300 130 is not the exactly the eastiest of vehicles to service. I do all my own servicing , modifications, maintenance so if it is a bit tight under the bonnet with the Duramax i can live with it! I am remote mounting the oil and fuel filters so it will be easier to maintain than the TDI300. Any vehicle is a compromise and i am prepared to live with it and enjoy the grunt of a V8 and good ecoconomy of a diesel. I have all the diagnostic software for this engine so have no reservations about reliabilty.

I had the same response here Justin with a certain Diesel V8 company in Brunswick WA. TDV8 sounds nice but how much are they?
Read in a thread on thread on LR4x4 forum, that to service the turbo on TDV6, the body has to come off and is a 40 hour job.Quote:
