I bought my puma just before xmass it jammed in first gear ( at the dealership) 1 month later new gear box only done 300 ks:
That wouldn't cure the problem. Dealers are the middle men or women that are out for short term profit. Sorry, but the dealers do not sell enough of these to honestly care. Those that are sold appear to be an after sales [cost nightmare] migrane for them, rather than downstream revenue. Tata is too far to care...otherwise, there would be voluntary recalls. Lets face it, if they haven't fixed the same problems by now, they most likely never will.
Why should the issues be compiled and noted after how many editions of this same vehicle have hit the market? LR should drop the price.
I think it is an excellent opportunity for a new business to flourish. Someone should set up a business that deals with Defender Post Production issues. The sole purpose should be to fix permanently what Tata, Ford, LR, and the Dealers have been unable to do... and charge another premium to do it.
Perhaps it can be a coop venture started from this AULRO membership? Nobody has the know-how that exists on this website. Not even the dealers. One way could be to buy out a small mechanical workshop and a body shop and start tending to out of warranty problems. I have planted the seed.... go forth and water it....

No as when the car went in for the injector change it stopped for a while
its not doing it all the time only every now and again.....I get more annoyed at the fact we get problems with this car that we can never recreate for the dealership....
Ian told them but alas car was fine.
It's a strange feeling I can only describe it as pullsing seems to only happen on very gradual down hill slopes......its like the car doesn't get fuel for a split second and then its back and then its gone and then its back. wouldn't surprise me if it was something to do with the mapping of the ecu and the fuel.....(that is a very uneducated guess though!)
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
thats the same thing I have experienced, a approx 200 rpm surging on very light throttle, on slight downhill,
it's interesting as I thought we had created this by converting to auto but it must be an inherent engine issue possibly made more visable with the auto as the torque converter slips,
it's not that obvious but you can induce it when you know how to do it,
it does feel like a fuel pressure thing but not sure where to start looking,
Dave
Interesting my td5 does that - surging on overrun on a downhill. I think it's related to the way the fuel get's cut off on over run. If you maintain a slight throttle then the ECU will decide whether to fuel the engine or not, and because it's getting quite close to the cut in point, any slight vibration on the throttle causes the surging. It's violent on the TD5, but not too bad on the Puma.
I've driven various TD5's and can get this to reproduce. It did not happen on the 300tdi because that does nto cut the fuel on overrun.
