who has factory fitted double cardon joint on the front propshaft?
We don't but another member said he has seen one on a Puma when he stuck his head under at land rover...so has there been a change somewhere in the years?

I don't have a DC on mine (MY2008). Shafts are both greaseable and with greaseable uni-joints at each end. I'm reading reports on a couple of UK sites of the fitting of a non-greaseable drive shaft as a replacement but haven't seen any mention of DC's on the drive shaft as OEM.

No me either I think he has his wires crossed...
He is finding out from a mate who works at landrover...but I dont have anything in my workshop manual.
Doesn't mean to say they haven't fitted them but I very much doubt it!!!

That was me, and it's definitely a case of me having my wires crossed. I've confirmed it with someone in the LR business.
PUMA Defender does not have a Double Cardan joint on the front propshaft. Sorry about that!![]()
So that's good news because it means that it will not have the sort of propshaft failures that a Discovery II has but the flip side of it is that it's not possible to put a 2" suspension lift without causing driveline vibrations....
well it is possible you just have to have a prop made up with double cardons.

I know some TD5 Defender owners have fitted the DII front driveshaft to their lifted vehicles to address the vibration issue. Of course they need to remember to keep greasing it every once in a while...
you can mod them derek to have greese nipples on them....pretty sure thats what discowhite did

yep, just install new uni joints...with nipples
cheers phil
