    Puma Aux Fuel Tank?

    Hi there.

    I've got the 2008, 110 Puma Wagon.
We are going to go to The Cape in July and I am looking to increase the fuel carrying capacity.
Is it best to change the existing tank or to get an auxillary tank? Or both?

I do not know where to look or whom to ask about fuel tanks.

    I live in Brisbane.
    Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers, Alex.

Front Runner auxiliary tank through Opposite Lock is the go.

I went the replacement tank way (130l). It is good but if I was to do it again I'd go for the auxillary and keep the main, I think it works out quite a bit cheaper... Live and learn...

Has anyone fitted the Front Runner 36l Water Tank for the Puma? Any Issues? Photo's? Does it affect departure clearance at all?

yes we have the water tank...and you wouldn't even know its there if it wasn't for the bloody poor quality tap hanging out in a vulnerable position.

The issue we found with it or me personally....I thought it made the water taste funny and I couldn't drink the water. (we have a filter to fit now to see if it improves it) the other thing we found which was a pro and a con was its right above the exhaust so when driving long distance it heats up the water...bare in mind though we also were driving in hot conditions. this is a con for wanting to drink it etc but great for using it to wash pots and your self when camping

The Opposite Lock retailed Front Runner 40 litre tank is great - gravity feeds the main tank so no new fuel pump or gauges - and can't void warranty. You also get to keep your rear step as the replacement long range tanks on install need the step removed.

Some other Long range tanks won't let you fit the LR genuine towbar.

As dullbird says, you can fit a water tank from the same manufacturer, which is the same shape, in the passenger side rear quarter.

I too looked at all my options. I decided on the The Opposite Lock one (Doolium). It is a 45 litre tank made from Stainless steel, which gravity feeds the main tank so no new fuel pump or gauges as others have said but is definately 45L not 40L.

The 45l auxiliary tank is a "must add" of the highest priority.

    I'm very pleased with mine.
