That's a great result but it seems Lovell_86 has a confirmed case of LPS (Landrover Pessimism Syndrome).

Early symptoms are driving along when hearing or feeling or imagining something different and turning to your passenger and asking desperately "What was that??!!"

"Hey Guys was just wondering if anyone could put me in the right direction of where and possible how much a rebuilt 300tdi would cost for a 97 defender. Or how much it would cost to do a rebuild."

There is a cure for LPS but some have found buying a V12 Jaguar while not curing LPS at least gives you something else to worry about.

Same as that although i tend to be sadly right when i feel a glitch coming on grrrr!!!

sorry to bring up an old thread, but could someone reccomend a place either in aus or the UK (that ships intl) for a reco 300tdi bare engine?

I have a 95 disco thats done the head, while i could just replace the head, at 280k its probably getting near rebuild time.
