    Castor Correction Bushes

    Gday

I'm going ahead with my 2 inch lift as soon as I get my tax return. I've had a chat to the fellas at Suspension Stuff, they recommend castor correction; but only have Poly Bushes. I'm not too familiar with the pluses and minuses of this. But I imagine the shock mounts would be under more pressure with poly bushes because they aren't able to flex as easily

Do I need to track down a set of rubber bushes?

Or am I just waffling rubbish

    Thanks

IMHO Jock you should slot the swivels instead for castor correction. AND with the 130 spec front springs you have in there, they are about 1" taller than 110's anyway. Why do you want to go higher? If you used 130 spec rear dual springs for your long trip loaded up it'll be perfect. I'm currently thinking about this for mine for touring, loaded up towing.

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

I'm still 3-4 years away from my trip so at the moment. I'd like decent flex for offroad in the mean time.

I'll be getting 45mm lifted Dobinson springs with the Boss Shocks. I already have a set of dislocation cones and I'll be ordering some extended brake lines soon

Maybe I'll just prep the Defender for a bit of offroad fun then go back down for the trip. I don't reckon I'll be carrying heaps of stuff with me on the trip so I might give the dual coils a miss. Been thinking I'll travel pretty light

This is not huge flex as its standard but it is flexing! and this is poly bushed

Do a before and after wheel alignment........your call on how it feels. You can always add caster correction bushes later. Probably cost a liitle extra in duplicated labour though.

I need a wheel alignment as it is after bending that tie rod the other weekend. So I'll just wait for the suspension before I do

You may have misread what I was saying DB. I remember once looking at 2_door's Range Rover. He still had the rubber bushes and they had squashed right out from where the shock mounts themselves were given a little bit of freedom. I had a feeling that with poly bushes they wouldn't be able twist as much. If you know what I'm saying. I'll try and find the picture

ok I see what your saying.......

he looks like he almost bound his coils in that picture...no doubt that's how he knackered his shock bump stops not long enough
