British Off Road - The Land Rover spare parts specialists - Home - Disco steel rims are fairly popular though...I had to wait to get a good set.
just bought some disco rims, 5 for 200.
so looks like offset would be the go as well? thanks for your help Ben.
Yes, but don't go too far or they will rub where the flares meet the body on the rear. I have a set of disco rims with an extra 30mm of offset and 285s and they do that.
About 15-20 mm extra offset is what you would want.
yeah i would of never thought of that, that you could go to far and hit the edge, thanks again. my brothers in law have already picked out creek walls to climb they got a fairly well done up patrol and old hilux, they couldn't do it and they've done a lot of 4x4ing. so i think they're going to try and test it out pretty well, funny thing is i haven't even got the thing yet.but beening a landy, always in good hands

I'm sure you will have fun with it.
Maxxis Bighorn 255/85-16s are pretty cheap and should work well in that sort of terrain (I have these on my +15mm disco rims on the 110).
All of my disco rims were galvanised after they were modified. I can run the at 7psi offroad with no beadlocks. They stick like glue then.
There is some great driving out your way...
