    exhaust re-routing and other bits

just thought i'd post a few pics of my newly re-routed exhaust and added protection in preperation for mud gut's.
my new 3 1/2 "springs are ordered and should be here next week, then the tyres can go on, get it dyno'd and were almost ready.

exhaust re-routed over the top of the chassis

    new exit

    exhaust and body sliders

    body slider and bumperette

nick, it's slowly undergoing transformation - i say slowly cos at the minute it's still claire's car for work, so i'll get it ready for mud, guts then see where we go from there

    Mate looks good.

I thought about the side exhaust but couldn’t see any real advantage so I’m curious as to your reasoning.

From the look of it you’ve removed all the mufflers and I assume the cat converter? I’ve moved all bar the final muffler which I will do if I go for the side exhaust. Did you notice any significant exhaust noise increase?

And the last question and clearly showing my lack of knowledge, what’s the purpose of the steel section under the window’s.

the exhaust did run under the chassis and out under the back of the panel work behind the wheel and kept getting banged when coming off rocks, i've not had the mufflers removed it's just hard to see in the pic but you can just make out the centre muffler under the axle in one pic. on the last pic you can see i've now made rear "bumperettes" to further protect the rear ( also cut some of the rear quarter and flare) the one on the left hand side was waiting for the paint to dry before fitting.
the box section under the windows are body sliders to prtect the waist when scrubbing against tree's - probably going to continue it down the doors.
it's entered into a comp next month with some pretty tight sections and i dont want to damage it - too much
