    Puma owners - important message

No matter how I do the maths, I can't afford a new Puma in the foreseeable future.

So, all you lucky folks out there who own a Puma - please keep it in good condition.

I know you plan to keep them until you die, but when you die, me and my sons (who will grow up scouring the classifieds) will be right there to check out the vehicle you leave behind.

Dings and dents are OK, but please don't do any unnecessary damage, especially to the interior. You've had the pleasure of a new car, when we buy a second or third hand one, we'd appreciate it if it wasn't too obviously second hand.

Enjoy yours while you have them, but keep in mind those who come after.

    Cheers,
    Rick

    Righto!
I'll stick a Dymo label with you name on the dash so you're not forgotten, although you may wish to find an older, more decrepit owner if you want one before about 2050. Suggest you try Scallops - he's at least over 40 .

Although my learned colleague Solmanic is right regarding my age, it has been stipulated in my will that my Puma is to become my eternal tomb - so if you want it, you'll have to put up with me back seat driving from beyond the grave - I suggest you try JohnR - cos although his Puma will take you just about anywhere, because it's black it might not get past the pearly gates.

    Sorry Rick,

You'll just have to covet mine from afar.

(One of the benefits of the Puma is its low first gear in King Street traffic)

No intentions of selling and I'm much older than Solmanic and even Scallops.

Wow. I wonder how many of us are planning to take our vehicles to the grave? I'm thinking of getting my father-in-law who is a retired Minister to bless mine so I can enjoy it in the Eternal Kingdom . At the very least I would hope to get good mileage and some reliability.

In the distant future puzzled Archaeologists will be disinterring skeletons of old men buried in their Pumas surrounded by their other earthly goods:

Flyfishing gear, Sidchrome Socket Sets and bottles of Coopers Sparkling Ale and occasionally tools of their profession: Rotring drawing pens or geologist's hammers

So do we have a good advertising concept?

We've all seen the magazine ad' "You never actually own a Patek Phillipe. You merely look after it for the next generation"

How do we advertise the Defender?

"You do actually own your Defender, and you can take it with you. Let them get their own"

Is yours the kitted out silver one I've waved frantically at on several occasions?

If you see an arm waving from a dusty green corrolla up the city rd end, pull over and let me covet.
