    BTW, I was just going from memory re the other thread, I remembered it was a defender, but didn't realise it was a puma!

    The original pump failed on my '97 130 at around 200,000km. The next two pumps failed very quickly after being fitted. And yes a loud tappety noise that coresponds with engine revs. No intermittance though, just failure and a rock hard pedal. All oem pumps. The mechanic measured things up and packed the current one out by, from memory 8 or so mm. many km down the track ... no further trouble...yet. Don.

    I made a few calls and there looks to be a bad batch in oz with k08 at the end of there serial number, steer clear of them waebco models there's a faulty plunger breaking in them, I've managed to confirm that with four resources in oz
