    Ladder mounting

My father-in-law is going to make me a ladder for accessing the roofrack of the Defender 110. How and where are they normally mounted?

when i make them i use the gutter as the main support for the weight of the person. 2 holes top and 2 holes bottom.
i havent made one for a while, have a search for ladder to no where, or have a look at my 90 build thread.

    cheers phil

    Hey mate

Mine is bolted where that little handle is down the bottom and then bolted onto the roof rack itself

I'll take some photos when I get home from work

I like that idea - no need for messing with the panels, and no holes if I take it off.

    Top mount:

    Bottom Mounts:

    And from a distance:

If your interested I do have a steel ladder off my old Landy. It has a similar mount on the bottom but it is welded onto the rack at the top. A bit of modifying and some paint would make it new again

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious... you could get booked for obscuring the number plate.
