so it turns out fenders are getting harder and harder to get, and so a very good td5 which apparently mine is, as the people who want to buy it have looked at others and said mine is by far the better one of the lot

so what you think, sell or stay
Mmmm ....... Looks as tho Stig0000 doesn't have to advertise ... as they are lining up with the "cash in hand"

    So.....

    Vehicle:
    2006 TD5 Fender
    94,500kms

    Issues:
    Leaking hub seal (still leaking....)
Handbrake cable (refused to be done under wnty)
    Front Diff (done under wnty)

    Use wise:
Heavy towing during the hay season
    Off road (touring, mud etc).
    Daily driver (10kms a day)

I love the TD5 motor for sure.
Have a mate with an 07 Puma he has had all sorts of electrical dramas.
Not sure l want to buy into that...?

Is having a TD5 with more than 100,000kms on it a liability waiting to happen?

    Service:
I service it every 10,00kms myself (oil, air etc).
Have a it done 'properly' every 20,000kms.

Is it worth upgrading to Puma in the new year??

    Thoughts???

    Thanks,

    Mike
I would be interested to know what electrical dramas.......I have not heard of a single person with electrical issues yet...can you PM me and let me know what so we don't hijack this thread

Dobbo, how can you say in all honesty that you are not having a go?

Your last line is tantamount to going up to someone and saying "with all due respect", then insulting them.

I agree that Stig has some spelling / typing issues. I also thought that your first post was amusing. I feel that the subsequent post was derogatory and uncalled for.

    Just my opinion.

By stating the truthful fact, I was not having a go. Those that have been blessed by being around my physical presence, know the difference when I am having a go, as opposed to having a friendly dig or offering some friendly constructive critisism.

I would still love to know how 2 turbo's can power 5 cylinders?

Is that a twin parallel setup? or staged?

Guys please correct me if I am wrong.
twins work in parallel each turbine winding up an equal amount of cylinders and in this day and age of VNT turbines are outdated, basically used for **** value in 1980's supercars like F40, Skyline GTR and Supra's. They apparently offered less turbo lag due to being so small. They are usually replumbed to a single turbo setup to get serious performance. Think Olsen twins, they're apparently identical, but both perform the same roll which is pretty much nothing but occassionally snort something through a smallish hose.

you decide which one he was going to build

staged, sequential or compound setups use different sized turbo's with one feeding the other feeding the engine. Like the Volvo in your google search or Bush65's setup, this type of two turbine setup, has enough torque to pull off a pud, permanently. Not just for the pleasure of it. Calling it a twin???? Well you decide.

The performance and driveability requirements in the high-performance D5-engine have been solved with twin turbochargers of different sizes that operate in sequence to provide added power within a broader rev range. The result is alert response and rapid acceleration at all speeds, with very smooth power delivery between the turbo ranges.

    I prove my point.

Danny talks the talk and Arnie does the work.

    Now read the other thread.

I dont have to read another thread I was merely answering you query in this one...if it doesn't answer it then you haven't expressed your self clearly enough.

    this is all you wrote:

which to me and the way I read it suggest you didn't believe that such technology was either here or possible.. hence my reply
