    6BT cummins

The motor and trans in this Land Rover came from a Daf 45 roadrunner truck. It was mated to the LR Transfer case? The new 2.8LTR ISF Cummins engine is the beast to fit......
A ZF 5 or 6 speed manual gearbox will work with this engine.

Pretty sure this is the one owned by JP (handbuilt) from canada. It is a series landie running 38s

I want one! (but a 6BD1T would be just as good...)
    Or a 6HE1TC.... yeah baby!!!

Did you ever measure up the engine bay for that 4HE1TC you had a look at on my showroom floor that day???

I posted the measurements on here. It would fit. Slightly taller, but should be OK with a puma bonnet. The biggest issue is the starter is on the gearbox side on those engines, so some serious tunnel mods would be needed to run an isuzu box, or serious engine bellhousing mods to turn the starter around.

They would be a perfect option for a forward control landie though!

The exhaust is also on the driver's side, but that is less of an issue, as the 4JB1 is the same and they go in OK.

    Cummins new isf3.8??

I would love to place one of these babies in a defender/ d2a if the engine ever failed.
I am still struggling to pick if i want a defender or discover 2.
my misses loves the comfort. i love the 130 defenders with the big style side back with a canopy. storage space to the max.

ISF3.8 for Light Commercial Vehicle - Cummins Engines

have a look at the cummins motor. can get in australia now. and they don't rattle like the 4bt/6bt's do.

With torque ranging between 450-600 NM thats pretty impressive
