Thread: Defender 130 water tank.

Also have a 130 with ally tray.

I have an Al fuel tank in that space you are talking about. It holds 75L.

I put a near on 45L water tank under the passenger sill.

Fuel tank was made by a pro out of 3mm plate. Use a fuel solenoid to switch between the two tanks.

I built up the water tank out of some 3mm chequer Al... using compressed air to pump the water out to a tap between cab and tray.

I plan to fabricate a under tray tank for my new 130 (when it finally arrives here in OZ) please post some pic's of your version. please include the under sill tanks.

if its a 130 dual cab, a caravan plastic 55L water tank fits nicely under the rear seat. you just need to cut the hole larger.

is your gravity fed? or electric pump? i tried to eurathane the joins and seal the lid with a tap out the side but it leaked and i gave it up as a bad joke, i like the caravan option as its safe and keeps the water cool in summer. Have you got any pics to show?

It was gravity fed, with an inlet and outlet on the triangle piece behind the back door. I have some pics, but i have to find them first, there may be some in my sisters 130 buildup thread in projects section. I had to cut the hole all the way from the back where it bolts on, to the front, just behind the seat angle brackets. The plastic molded tank was only $100 or so, and the fittings and hoses were about $20. The water still heated up when it got hot though not as much as if it was under the car.

I have a long range fuel tank under my steel tray it feeds into my standed tank, I'm going to put a water tank under to back seat for drinking water and at the moment I'm building a strong frame for the tray it won't be as high as the roof of the cab but I will be able to mount 2 spare wheels a solar panel and thinking of putting a 100 ltr black bladder water tank so when its full it will give all the warm water for showers and washing etc, it will only be full when camping for a few days and when empty it don't take up much room, I'm building the frame so it can be easly taken off when not in use...

Has anyone tried installing a bladder or something under the drivers seat?

You need to move the ecu and fuses to a new box under the cubby box, all the wires reach fine.

If anyone has, I would like to know a bit more about this
