    Couple of jobs completed...

Well, finally job some time to work my 130 over the weekend...

Not sure how far I will go with this one.... I think next will be lockers

    So far installed:

    front diff protector
strengthened the draglink, trackrod & rear trailing arms
    rear ARB diff cover
pair of IPF 7" headlight inserts.

Today I am getting the rear section of exhaust realigned so it will run above the A arm. Will also get the muffler removed to make it a free-flowing system. I will also fab up a bracket for the rear brake pipe union as per my previous thread.

    Cheers

I'm interested in seeing and hearing about the exhaust as I was looking under mine yesterday and wondering where else it could be routed and whether removing the muffler would be practical and whether there was any way to make it legal but free-er breathing and better sounding !

The diff - Salisbury ? I've never seen those protectors before - isnt it teh front of the diff you really want to be protecting though !

Where in Brissy are you ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Sounds good. Would you mind sharing where you bought it from ? Can I got to somewhere like Scott Metals at the Gabba and ask for 3mm wall seamless pipe ? Is it a snug fit and did you pump silastic or similar in there to stop water/rust between the arm and pipe ?

Try either Scott metals at the Gabba or there's Steelpower in Christine Place Capalaba (just off Smith Street).

You'll need to grind down the metal ring at the chassis end of the trailing arm. I did use some black adhesive silicone to ensure no vibration.

Did the same on the front steering arms.

Just use a vernier gauge to ensure you get the correct sized pipe.

    Hey Vledtapes

I am located at Gumdale. The Diff covers are $230 from ARB and very easy to install. The only difficult part is relocating the bracket that holds the brake pipe union.

Regards to the exhaust, you really don't need a muffler on a turbo diesel. The turbo helps to remove the majority of the normal exhaust noise. I am staying with 2 & 1/2 inch sized pipe straight through. The exhaust is getting done on Monday.

I did the same mod on the exhaust on my Range Rover with success.

I'll get some pics once it's done

    Cheers

Let us know how the straight through turns out. Allways interested in any way to gain a little more sting for the barge!.
