I have seen it before,, I think FB from memory, but didn't look into it at all. On board charging system would be a big plus as far as 4x4ing goes.
I'm guessing Dons looked into all of this, and probably knows of these guys and what they are doing.

Onboard Charging just means there is a battery charger on board,
So you can plug it into a power point ,
Most electric cars will have one .
Alternative is a external DC CHAdeMo Charger that feeds direct into the battery .
Our camper trailer has on board charging.
OK,, so you can have a real look see for yourself if you want. They are about to start building it from what I can see. They are looking for crowd funding, and you can already book for the future spring/summer in 2019.
Must say, I'm thinking they're pretty optimistic in going to have it going, tested etc,, done and dusted by spring. I'm sure Don you'll have a better idea of timelines to put this thing together, let alone have it ready for business/rental in only a few short months.
However, on the upside,, I could use some parts
I believe the crowd funding is complete & they achieved their goal , Not sure it was crowd funding as in donations, but more pre booking payments as such.
They certainly have had a great marketing campaign as I receive newsfeed items on it from all over the world.
It took me about 3 months to do mine, mostly waiting for the next part to arrive. I pretty much documented my entire conversion online so that anyone else doing one will have a better idea of how it all goes together. I expect it shouldn't take any longer than 100 hours esp if they have a VASS engineer on hand to consult & sign off . I'll be most interested in how they fit in the Tesla modules, They are a bit long to go in the place previously occupied by a 10 gallon Series fuel tank.
So Don, in respect to charging, is it not possible to recharge as you drive anyway?
I get that they will all have a charger in them that they can just plug into the wall, that makes perfect sense as I doubt every stop has the specific charging point they need, but, I was under the impression these could be self charging to a certain degree as well as an option. Sorry, but I know little about that side of things.
No such thing as Self Charging , Its impossible and the Toyota "Self Charging" is nothing of the sort , "Self Charging" Toyotas are falsely named Hybrids , They have a tiny electric motor & a small battery , capable of about 20km on battery alone & at a reduced power level , The petrol engine runs the Elec motor in Regenerative mode to recharge the battery.
However electric Cars can recharge their own battery when going down hill or under braking , the motor turns into a generator & instead of energy being turned into heat via friction brakes , its returned to the battery.
My EV Landy achieves between 6 to 10% regeneration under day to day stop start driving purely from regenerated braking energy. On highway runs regeneration is zero.
