    Aston Martin DB4GT

    Perhaps American (re) built.....

Aston Martin Other DB4GT Zagato | eBay

    I love the tin-work, that's some talent.

I do like the concept of the old car with current(ish) running gear but I'm not sure it 'right' to do it to an Aston?

I'm a bit dubious of this though. Aston Martin has an extensive history on its cars, yet the description here seems to suggest otherwise. Not that I've got two and a half million to spend but there is way too many discrepancies there to ever feel comfortable with it, such as the 'Zagato coach work' ... done in Newport Pagnell (!) while I realise the body has been made in recent times, it's not really a Zagato without their trademark double bubble roof thing they do ...

Still, you can't deny Clive (Shapecraft) certainly has some talent.

I think mr ebay is going to have trouble selling his car at the price he is asking ...

Half century of Astons at Bonhams' Newport Pagnell sale | Classic and Sports Car

The first car in that list has a similar sort of story, with similar Zagato(ish) afterthought bodywork, with an estimate of £800-900k. Even if it doubles it's estimate it still falls well short of the two and a half million mr ebay wants ...

Love Astons (real ones ) but this is basically a very expensive ( though very nice ) kit car.

My favourite classic car ever. Had the pleasure of watching on e race once at Oulton Park and it made the Ferraris of a similar vintage look and sound very ordinary.

As above, I'm not sure that the new gear old body thing works on a car of that stature. Aston themselves built a few newer ones, known as Sanction 2 cars, just to finish off the serial numbers that were assigned to the run... I think I'd be looking for one of those if I had the money!

    Very nice.

The only reason I wouldn't run out and get one is that there doesn't appear to be enough room in the boot for my camping gear...
