Look at the positives.
They look great, they're shiny and they will last at least three years.
Tested as 2 starts out of 5. Child occupant safety is appalling.
Although the testing has changed, it still paints a bad picture - almost as bad as the Evoque...
Probably still better than my 101...

See what they fail for though... amusing...
Poor access to child seats, No out of lane, no pedestrian safety etc..
Crash cell held up.. and did a pretty good job..
Ancap really is a total crock of ****..
Not at all - they also reported drivers head hitting the steering wheel, passanger head hitting the dashboard due to airbags under inflating. Deceleration rates high compared to crash speed - the crumple zones are too hard causing occupant damage. There's a lot of vehicles I wouldn't want to have a crash in - and I own a few of them, but this certainly rates as a stinker for a modern, expensive vehicle compared to what other manufacturers are offering, which is what I wanted to point out.
Expensive car - crap features. I love the look of them and we even considered buying one, but just looking and sitting in one put me off straight away - the build quality is aweful. Go open and close a door on one - it sounds like an old series Land Rover. Wiggle the handle up and down while you're at it - the whole door panel flexes.
I think Mick is on the money with the 3 year lifespan...
Real shame - it promised so much, and delivered so little. Ford still have some work ahead of them...

Their biggest safety problem of course will remain the loose nut behind the steering wheel.
My brother has a 5.0 Mustang from the first Aussie shipment - ordered 18 months before Aussie release so bought sight unseen - he considers it to be a low rent car with a high rent aussie price - in the US it is a low rent car with a matching low rent price.
Not surprising is failed the Europe crash testing as it is a very old car - the current basic body was released in the US in 2004 so was designed earlier than that.
So with only 2 stars it cannot be used by Govt agencies like NSW police so I guess that unless the new 2017 model is rated higher it will not be used as a highway pursuit vehicle.

Mustang?, massive success for Ford Aus, and as loanrangie has said, "cheaper than a specced up Commodore". They are terrific value for money. I get the comment about build quality. There aren't many mass produced U.S. cars that are as well built as the VF Commodore. It was the same with the Monaro. U.S. buyers were amazed at the build quality of it.
There is also a huge range of go faster gear available, some of whhich, from Ford Motorsport, enables one to retain one's warranty.
And, what's the betting Supercars Prodrive runs a Mustang?, plus I say Penske will go that way as well.
Ford Aus love this car, all sold at full retail, & they can't get enough of 'm. And when Commodore finishes in Oct this year, the Mustang will be in even greater demand. What will Holden have to compete in the performance market?...Nothing at the moment,....they need Camaro, but no sign of that,.....Yet.
Pickles.
