    Smile Top Gear Burma Special..

Hi Guys Just Watched the Recent Top Gear Burma Special

Really enjoyed this Top Gear Special! was funny and entertaining as Usual..but had a good bit of history in regards to The Bridge on the River Kwai..

And it was amazing to see what those Trucks could put up with , steep rocky climbs, mud, river crossings ect!

Yes, was just a shame, that when I saw it recently on CH.9, they edited out the good bit near the end!
    Bloody political correctness.

They do some bloody impressive bush mechanics on the side of the road. May's truck was, predictably, a lemon from the outset.

Loved when he got a push up the hill from the little excavator, struggling for traction.

They showed the whole lot on BBC world when it aired here only a few days after it did in England. They cut out that bit after the uproar about it. I thought it was funny.

When I watched it there was definitely a slope on the bridge in a number of directions. Was an impressive feat of engineering but far from level.

It was amazing to see how uncomfortable those trucks were..

Makes a 90's Defender seem like a Rolls Royce

its impressive when you see it first hand too! The determination the truck drivers have over there is incredible, especially when you consider they get a pittance for their efforts. Goes to show how capable old bangers can be
