There is some money to be had in advocacy and lobbying. I don't think he will be struggling for a feed.
    Cheers, BDave.

Sorry dude, but you should probably re-read my post.

You are right in one thing thing though, there's certainly a large number of, shall we say, small trucks, doing considerable damage to tracks as well, once again, my belief is it comes down to training/education etc, and
if training involves watching these DVD's, then what do you expect.

As stated, when "I" started with 4x4-ing, some 30 odd years ago, there was no such thing. We were ignorant of the consequences, but through education, we changed.

Good riddance to that tool. Like a previous poster said. Trying to undo all the damage he has already done

I re-read it plenty before replying, those 'little tyred people' against 'big tyred' people comments are rubbish, there are knobheads in every group

But if you cause division in your group, you loose numbers, its simple as that, I've met plenty of people with 30+ years experience in my time, still running road pressures in the bush, tearing stuff up, years don't always count as knowledge either......travelled the simpson with a few, would not listen and continually getting stuck

Waste of time, NP will NEVER re-open something they have closed for good, NEVER, if it's ear marked as closed for maintenance, then yes, only way to have things opened, is to lobby the Govt and then it will only happen if there is something in it for the Govt.

As long as people are tearing up the bush, damaging infrastructure, leaving rubbish behind, nothing will change, especially in NSW.

Using Stockton as an example, that will re-open when, NP and the traditional owners think it is ready, and you will never get it all back, as a lot of the area thought to be public land, was never public land, it is and was always Mining lease.

Victoria on the other hand, they have two great organisations in Vic Parks and the DSE, they at least have places set aside for camping and use seasonal closures to help protect and maintain these tracks and camping areas and the majority are free, of coarse things are changing now, I guess Vic Parks were sick and tired of fixing areas damaged by dickheads and are now charging more fees to cope for this, only down side to this, more of these dickheads will be using the State forests free spots.

I watched the DVD and having been a 4WD action subscriber for 15 years always enjoyed his contribution to the mag, liked his laid back style of journalism myself and likes a bit of a **** take even on Rovers which is fine. He does come off as a bogan, rather that then some high and might know it all who thinks he's better than everyone else (plenty of those around).

Weather you like him or not at least he's doing something about track closures. Weather it'll work only time will tell so good luck to him.

I too have subscribed to 4wd action for many many years, I find that roothy is very Genuine and a down to earth character..

A no rubbish kind of bloke with very clear ideas on things, also if anyone has read the mags he has very interesting yarns and informative articles on Hot Lips his old WW2 Willys jeep

    Best of luck I say...

Yep well said mate,it's very easy to sit back and call him a dickhead or whatever else,it's a lot harder to do something that will help other Aussie's see this awesome country.

He could have sat back very content with the trips he and 4wd action have taken us all on,but he has chosen to fight to help us and our kids and further generations see more of this country.

Good luck all the way Roothy
