series 2 is just as rubbish as series 1

No real improvement in layout or the show's ability to keep your attention in series 2 I reckon.
Watched it for about 20mins then lost interest.
    It's like watching home movies.

Watched it for the first time this season tonight. I should qualify this by saying that i usually hurt myself laughing watching TGUK. I'm not sure i even cracked a smile tonight. I must say J morrison is a HUGE improvement on the original chap.

I still get the feeling they are 'performing' their lines. The little **** still bugs me as he always comes across like he's presenting a kids program.

I have to assume that all these guys are genuinley humourous in their own living rooms, but in the context of TGaus its painfully obvious they are forcing it.

The build an electric car challenge was a cracking idea, and had huge potential, and I'd have loved to see the little car rip around on 4 cordless drills, brilliant!. However it was let down with obviously engineered ideas that did'nt come from the principals, and the presenters having to maufacture humour.

At the end of the day tho, God loves a tryer...

Did anyone else find it interesting that the Clubsport with the ridiculously low profile tyres was actually an enormous 3 seconds slower around the track than something with slightly more sensible profile tyres?

I think Steve's comment was that the purpose of the ultra low profile tyres was that to give you more "doof doof cred".

It confirmed my suspicion that some of these "performance mods" are more for show than for go.

I suppose the times for the Stig's laps were genuine.

I went to the studio last night and should make a few TV shots Some VERY nice cars last night that should be on the show in about 5 weeks.

We turned up in my mates Kenworth 104 - with trailer - expecting to find parking. Amazing how many people move their cars when they see a big rig coming down the street

So who else found themselves watching the last episode with one eye on the presenters and on eye on the audience to see how many females were in the front rows?

    Total crap nothing funny.

    Total crap nothing funny.
you think about it, these guys have a near unlimited amount of time and money on their hands and this is what they come up with.
Lets face it us Australians are struggling to find anything funny or entertaining about the show what about the rest of the world (if they ever see it)!

A total waste of their time our time and everyones time!!

**** it off and start something new and worthwhile!!!

Or put the English vesion back on !!

I thought this episode was a huge improvement, Steve's road test of the clubsport was great, well at least it was honest! Once the presenters get to know eachother a bit it will get better.

Definitely an improvement on the first series, Warren is now firmly lined up as the 'Clarkson' type now that Charlie has gone, they seemed to clash on this 'role' in the first series.

Anyone else noticed the similarities between James Morrison and James May (apart from their first names and initials)?... Both were / are musicians! Bl@@dy good choice though, the chemistry works well between him and the other presenters, plus he's a total car nut which is always good!

What Top Gear in the UK has lacked since 2002, is a presenter who can actually drive properly. Sure, Jeremy has got better over the years, but he's not a naturally gifted driver and he'd be the first to tell you that. The Stig only does what he's been paid / cast to do and drive 'em fast around a track - you obviously get no feedback from him on the car's driving / handling characteristics. For that reason, I have always thought that "Fifth Gear" (another UK motoring show) was better in their car review sections than Top Gear as they had presenters who were previously Race drivers (Tiff Needell and Jason Plato - and, yes I know that Tiff used to be on TG prior to 2002).

So TG Aus, is (for now) one up on the UK version, because they have the little fella, Steve Pizzati who's apparently a race driver, motoring journalist, stunt man & advanced driving instructor. Not sure what formats he's raced in though and if he's currently a race driver. I'm sure a few of us here have driven in a few races over the years, but would you describe yourself as a race driver? So out of interest, does anyone know if he IS a race driver or not? I can't find much on the web other than an entry for a Steve Pizatti as a co-driver in a Volkswagen Golf R32 in the Dutton rally in 2006.

Anyway, I'm not too sure on him for now. He needs to lift his game as I feel he's letting the presentation of the show down at this time. I've noticed the 'awkward' & 'stilted' moments regularly seem to involve him. Not saying get rid of him just yet, I don't think that's fair, but surely he has to improve if he's to stay for a 3rd series?
