Yeah Captain but I reckon I would have been a better choice than Steve Pizzati ! I've even neglected to shave this weekend and have the requisite facial hair.
I'd just do the Clarkson thing and make sure I got to test all the Astons !
Pizzati is a Porsche and Audi driving instructor. I can tell you he wouldn't have got that gig unless he was a very good driver and equally good communicator. I can tell you those guys don't putter around doing "normal" defensive driving. Porsche focus on racecraft training.
Cox was an ex racing driver too but a crap presenter. You can read more about the original crewhere.
Now I like James May, however I disagree with you on his similarity to James Morrison. May is a trained musician but is a career journalist.. James Morrison on the other hand is a career musician (with exceptional talent) and his hobby is cars. He has competed in a number of Targa style events. I think Morrison is an excellent choice and is showing potential already IMHO.

Watched it tonight ... started out pretty bad, but the Masarati & the stunt driving made up for it.
I watched it last night, and it was noticeably less akward. They still haven't got it down pat, but they have improved a lot I thought.
I'll watch it next week.
They are getting there!![]()

Yeah, the pre-recorded articles, (car tests etc) are looking good, its the studio banter that still sucks, and Pizatti is the culprit of most of the tripe.
Last night i would have to say the worst moment was the 'comedian' they had in the resonably priced car. Nobody told him it should be an informal chat, and it was obvious he just launched in to his frantic stage routine, which nobody was laughing at. After some uncomfortable silences he reached his big punchline and it was only whatshisname's (cartoonist) responding laughter that got the audience to laugh along politely.
I thought the Maserati sequence was a cracker. He wasn't trying too hard with the dialogue, and beautifully shot, with some nice tyre smoking. Nicely done.

Yep - gotta agree that pizza face has taken over from Charlie Cox as the source of the awkwardness. He has got better though so maybe he will lose the twitchy annoying overtones eventually.

That was the worst piece of crap I have watched in a long time - the Maserati segment was the exception.
The little mouthy ferret has got to go - what a waste of space.

The first series was just so try hard and was really not good. This new series is so much better. They will improve as they go on obviously.
I have been trying to get into the show but it hasn't "got" me yet. I haven't managed to watch a full show yet without getting bored and turning the tele off to go do something else. The guest interview segment seems the worst and is where I loose interest...
James M certainly has some car skills though as the stunt driving segment showed. Looked fun!
